The Wilsonburg Jump Team
The Wilsonburg Jump Team is a demonstration rope jumping team
that performs and teaches rope jumping skills all over the state of West Virginia.
Our students have become "Heart Health Ambassadors" and love
to travel to other schools to get students excited about jumping rope.
All 5th graders at Wilsonburg Elementary School in Clarksburg,
WV may be part of our team, regardless of skill or ability.

Our School
Wilsonburg Elementary School is a small, rural school in central West Virginia. We have an enrollment
of nearly 200 students. All of our students in grades Pre-K thru 5th grade participate in rope jumping activities during
their physical education classes. They know that when they are in 5th grade, they may be members of the Wilsonburg
Jump Team.
Benefits of Rope Jumping
Jumping rope improves cardiovascular fitness. It is a great leisure time activity for all ages that promotes
life long fitness and a healthy lifestyle. Being part of our team helps our students "trim down" during the school year
- conditioning all parts of their bodies, increasing coordination, rhythm and timing. Rope jumping is a creative
activity because there is no limit to the number of routines and skills that can be developed and mastered.

middle and high schools and colleges all over the state - often performing evenings, weekends and during the summers.
The team has been requested to perform for high school and college basektball half-times, festivals, health fairs, conferences,
